🍊 Grapefruit Paloma (Non-Alcoholic)
A bright, citrus-forward Paloma built with Sobrii 0-Tequila
Mexico’s Most Effortless Cocktail
The Paloma has long been one of Mexico’s most beloved tequila cocktails — refreshing, uncomplicated, and built for gathering.
While its exact origin remains somewhat debated, many trace the drink back to mid-century Mexico, when tequila and grapefruit soda became a natural pairing in bars, homes, and outdoor celebrations. Some people believe Don Javier of La Capilla Tequila, Jalisco helped popularize the Paloma. But unlike some classic cocktails it's origins are not accurately documented. What’s never been debated however is the drink’s identity as a staple in Mexican culture. It's appeal: bright citrus, refreshing bubbles, and just enough bitterness keep things balanced.
This alcohol-free version keeps that same easygoing spirit intact.
Built with Sobrii 0-Tequila, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, agave, and grapefruit soda, it’s vibrant, refreshing, and incredibly easy to serve — whether you’re mixing one on a sunny afternoon or batching a full pitcher for a crowd.
It’s one of our favourite non-alcoholic cocktails for hosting because it feels festive without trying too hard.

Why We Love It
The Paloma works because it never overcomplicates things.
The grapefruit keeps the drink bright and lightly bitter, lime sharpens everything up, and Sobrii 0-Tequila brings a softer botanical profile that works beautifully with citrus. Its subtle floral character gives this version a fresher, more delicate feel while still holding the structure of a classic Paloma.
It’s the kind of cocktail that naturally fits into gatherings:
– Brunches and afternoon lunches
– Wedding and shower signature drinks
– Patio dinners
– Summer parties and larger celebrations
And because the build is so simple, it scales beautifully into a batch cocktail for hosting.

Also Works Beautifully With
For a slightly bolder and more agave-forward interpretation, this recipe also works beautifully with Free Spirits — The Spirit of Tequila. Its deeper structure and subtle pepper warmth create a richer, more classic tequila-style Paloma profile.

Hosting Tip
For larger gatherings, combine the Sobrii 0-Tequila, grapefruit juice, agave, and lime juice in advance and refrigerate until ready to serve. Top each glass with grapefruit soda just before serving to keep the drink bright and lively.
This makes an excellent signature cocktail for weddings, showers, brunches, and warm-weather entertaining.
